A Strong Economy: Workers, Storehouses, Mines and the Market

A strong army needs a strong economy. Mini Kingdoms has three resources — gold, wood and stone — each with its own source and use.

The three resources

ResourceFromNeeded for
GoldGold mines and millsWorkers, almost every soldier, upgrades
WoodTreesHouses, buildings, spears and barriers
StoneQuarries and rocksWalls, towers, the temple and mages

The smart worker manager

You don't need to move every worker by hand. The manager:

A worker you send to a resource by hand stays there for 90 seconds, then goes back to automatic work.

Priorities

Tap a resource in the top bar to change its priority: normal → high ▲ → paused. For example: pause stone at the start, then raise it when you want walls.

Storehouses: the shortest road

Every worker trip is: walk to the resource, gather, walk back to a drop-off. A storehouse (80 wood) next to a forest or mine cuts half the walk. Workers switch to it by themselves after a delivery when it makes their trip much shorter.

Neutral mines

So a distant mine is both a prize and a risk: guard it with a tower, or cut the enemy's workers off from theirs.

Mills: gold without workers

4 gold every 5 seconds — about 48 a minute per mill. It pays back its price (40 gold, 100 wood) in under two minutes and keeps working even if all your workers fall.

The market

The market turns what you have too much of into what you need:

Very useful on poor maps like the "Wastelands" with few trees.

Tools upgrade

The first blacksmith research is usually worker tools: 10%, then 20%, then 30% faster gathering. With 30 workers that's 9 free workers.

Golden rule: whenever your keep isn't training a worker, you are losing. Keep its queue busy until you have 25–30 workers.
